Re-Birth of an Ancient Golfing Nation
The Sri Lanka Professional Golf Championship took off with a great event: The Pro-Am
There were prizes for all; for the serious and for the fun loving, nearest to the pin, longest drive, best gross and nett scores etc etc. Special prizes were awarded for the team performances.
The event was filled with golf, food, musi, and lots of chit chats till late afternoon. The game was over by 11 AM having started at 7AM to a shot-gun start at all 18 tees .
There were over 15 Professionals out of the over 120 participants. Entry fees were a contribution in aid of junior golf development.
